This book, which features outtakes of various other Kafka books, might as well be called Parables and Prose Poems. The good part is that it was very f I didn’t really want to post a review, but I feel that I should explain the low rating. But simultaneously he is a free and secure citizen of Heaven as well, for he is also fettered by a similarly designed heavenly chain.

If intellectuals in modern society have lost the high standing that they had when intellectuals could be expected to support basic norms, it might be due to their ability to identify with the level of mental activity evident in this book more readily than with the norms of a society in which people desperately need to believe that they are being understood.

If all you’ve read is the Trial anr The Metamorphosis, you’ll be surprised by this book.
