The Power of an Ordinary Life: To refuse to read it because you don’t like U2 is misguided.
The book was a little too long for my taste. If you think of Bono as a poet, rather than a rock star, then you won’t be surprised at the level of introspection and insight that is revealed in this book.
There are faces of children who are going to die but don’t have to.
U2 vocalist, celebrity activist and one witth the world’s most outsized rock stars, Bono symbolically takes off his habitual shades to reveal the relatively normal guy behind the flashy and occasionally bombastic public persona in this series of wide-ranging conversations. It revealed a lot but left some mystery. You don’t have to work a day in a year in your life for it.

I’m not normally a navel-gazer, I’ve always thought you find yourself in other people. I enjoyed learning more about him.
I am interested in him as a person because I admire his work, both musically and on behalf of those in poverty. He is a role model to me, strange as it may seem, because I usually have female role models. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Bono also speaks passionately about how he has used his fame as a platform to campaign fervently on a range of global issues, and why these issues – which include the IRA ceasefire, Third World debt and, most cpnversation, the growing AIDS crisis in Africa – are so important to each of us.
