In Bloodhound, you see so many different sides of these two fabulous characters, and I love it. At one point in the story, Beka saves children from kidnappers who presumably have dark bloodhond.
And it is up to Achoo to teach Beka that there is more to finding a criminal than the chase, and sometimes you have to sniff them out of their hiding places. The book I think could have been pages shorter. There are several fights, both physical and magical including injuries to main charactersand characters are tortured for information.

All trails seem to lead to Port Caynn. I need to manage my expectations, I suppose. I’ve been selling the first Beka Cooper novel to anybody that will listen to me ramble about how great it is, I don’t think I was ever so excited to get my hands on an ARC Advanced Reader’s Copy of anything more than I was to get this. Beka’s achievements are all the more satisfying because she achieves them almost entirely on her own merits. Return to Book Page. View all 6 comments.
I was really flip floppy on what to give Bloodhound. There are some bloody deaths human and animal and serious injuries. Goodwin finally returns with the promised reinforcements from Corus and Beka joins them. Once he gets what he wants, he skips out of Beka’s life and becomes the scoundrel playboy he didn’t need to be.
Her books have been translated into many languages, and some are available on audio from Listening Library and Full Cast Beia.
But even her mag Beka Cooper is no longer a Puppy. I’ve never gotten that feeling from one of Tamora Pierce’s books. She deserves better and she can’t seem to see a few very important things.
Bloodhound (Beka Cooper)
Bloodhound is book two in the Provost’s Dog trilogy. After all that, the denouement was rushed and unsatisfying, perhaps to reign in the word count. And, Bake got laid! This is where of course all the high action is and we see Beka at her best.

I am going to use gender-neutral pronouns for Okha, because while Bekka consistently uses male pronouns, Okha hirself says that zie is a woman.
